OMM,
On 2nd DEC-07 there was a Picnic of 86 batch UCEAN`S at Sikher Chandi/BBSR done sucessfully. About 30 UCEAN`s joined along with Family members. The old memory of UCE life could be shared by all. So I suggest where ever you stay, try to get-together each other along with family members in order to live the great Divine plant UCE.
OMM

It gave me immense pleasure that UCEians have made this commendable effort. Myself also belongs to physics Alumni of Sambalpur University, under which UCE was functioning previously.

As we have got the Autonomy...so we should think what an autonomous college should have & in which factor we are lagging behind...
see every autonomous college is having a robotics training class.. may be once a week.. at least for 1st, 2nd & 3rd year students....i have tried to tell this to so many teachers & also to our principal...but nothing happened.... Second thing we should have net facility in our hostel....
I think u people know how much it is necessary these days... Our knwledge should not be limited to only whatever written in the books... & also it will be helpful for those who are preparing for GATE....
so plz.. I request to all the alumni of our college to do get at least this to things to us....
Thanking you...

Hello friends, i went to laser technology department IITK and operations research interdisciplinary course at IITB for MTech admission interview. There the professors know our college very well. (They call it `Burla engineering college`). I was proud to learn this fact that our college is recogised by the best of the best institutes. Finally i cleared the interview in both the departments. But i will go for MTech in laser technology at IITK.

Statutary Warning: ALCHOL DRINKING IS DANGEROUS TO HEALTH
DHABAs at remed are very conscious of quality of food being served to future technocrats. I would like to share one interesting experience with you all. I have a vivid memory of one such nightout at remed. Five of my batch mates went there to have spicy, tasty, and mouth watering CHICKEN (I donot want to name them). As a novice I refrained from taking something else..... for which remed is famous and sat with them to take Egg bhujia. But to my surprise rest of my four friends took seriously and to prove their point they mixed two types of SPIRIT and started gulping.
Then something interesting happened, one of my friend said the SPIRIT supplied is DUPLICATE and challenged the owner. Owner vehemently dismissed and asked us to prove. Our HEROs were so sure that One of them bought SPIRIT of same company from another shop and compared. And asked owner to taste. The owner found the difference. After which he did not charge us for the food and drinks that NIGHT. After repeated request he took the price of the CHICKEN which he had supplied.
It happened 17 years ago, I donot know what is happening now. Many of our young friends will enlighten us.
