Happenings at UCE!

Rising Sun!

Dear Alumni,

  I am excited as I am writing this snap shot of 'Happenings' at UCE...

(1) UCE is all set to regain the Academic Autonomy which was taken by BPUT... The Honorable VC of BPUT has already written letter to our Principal to start preparation for Academic Autonomy... It will be formally anounced when Management Board of BPUT meets somewhere around 20th of this month... Kudos to all the students of UCE who went all-out and BBSR subcentre....

(2) During our meeting with Honorable Industry Minister today, he assured to grant Society Registration to UCE at the shortest time (in a week or couple)...

(3) Document for Deemed University is being given final touches which will be submitted to State Govt the moment we are registered as Society who will recommend it to UGC... All indications from State Govt is positive till now... With Deemed University, we will lose one thing... The name - UCE....
New name shall be announced soon...

(4) Thanks to Principal and VC, 25 new faculties shall soon be joining UCE taking staff strength to 69... Interview results are not yet declared due to stay in High Court....

(5) During our discussion on UCE's Vision with His Excellency the Governor of Orissa yesterday, he was positive on opening a new B Tech Course on Mettalurgy with a state-of-art R&D centre at a cost of Rs 200 crores... We will have to work on the project report further and submit it to CM and MHRD.... Besides, there are proposals for opening other centres of excellences - Energy Studies, Computer & Informatics, Disaster Management, etc... How far we succeed is a factor of many, but a concrete road-map for
5 years has been prepared which was appreciated by His Excellency...

All roads from here lead to prosperity for UCE... Join Hands... Contribute broad-chested to the development of UCE as one of the Ten Best Colleges of India in 5 years from now...
